September Debrief: What Worked, What Didn’t, and What I’m Taking Into October
September is always a “new year” for moms! There’s back to school energy, new routines, and a reset before all of the holiday chaos starts. For me, it’s also my birthday month, my own personal new year, which makes it the perfect time to reflect. Here’s what actually worked this month, what didn’t and what I’m carrying with me into October
What I Actually Loved
- My organization systems: Small hacks have made huge impacts on the two busiest times of my day, school mornings and after school.
- My birthday: Life has been “lifing” but my birthday was a sweet reminder to slow down,. give myself grace and to be thankful for life.
- Skincare over makeup: Introducing new products that focus on anti aging and concerns for mature skin has changed the game for my skin and it shows!
What Made Me Spiral
- Social Media and Blog Consistency: Transparently I LOVE creating this space and brand. But overthinking is keeping me from showing up consistently and I am working on it.
- Healthy Eating: UberEats and I go together real bad and I am not ordering salads. I really need to do a better job of eating intentionally to reach my goals.
- Stressing: God got it. And I’ll leave it at that.
What I’m Carrying Into October
- Momentum: I’m riding this wave into October and plan for it to translate to consistency through the 4th quarter.
- Planning Sundays: I love my Sunday planning sessions and I am so proud that I have been able to maintain planning all year. (for the most part)
- More Tween Outings: I plan for the kids and I to enjoy fall in NYC!
What I’m Leaving Behind + Still Figuring Out
- Overthinking: Okay I say this every month, but this month I mean it!
- Feeling Stuck: This one is tough, but I know I am right where I am supposed to be. So I am leaving this feeling all the way behind.
- Balancing: This is one I am always trying to figure out. In September I really struggled with content creation and “momming” and this combo is something I am still actively working on.
The Little Joys That Got Me Through
- My dog acting like a newborn.
- Birthday flowers that lasted the entire month!
- A pretty pink cafe with a strawberry ice chai latte I am obsessed with.
This Month’s Faves
Beauty Find: This has been a game changer in my skin OMG!
Amazon Find: I am actually shocked at how great this non toxic frying pan is!
September has always been a special month to me. This September I was reminded to give myself grace, to be thankful for where I am, and to move forward with faith and a plan! I’ll be bringing that energy into October, see you there!
